Lake Maggiore

The second largest lake in Italy is 66 kilometres long and 10 kilometres wide: Lake Maggiore. Resulting from melting glaciers, today it is fed by the Ticino tributary. On its coast numerous lively cities have developed whose names tell of the sunny existence in the South: Locarno, Ascona, Stresa, Arona.
